Your Pre-Part to your reunion made possible by Char

You pre-part to your reunion with the person you seek

Hey Birth Family’s & Adoptees,

If I am currently working own finding a family member for you, or if you are thinking about having me find a family member for you, there are a few things I need you to do before we make contact with the person you are searching.  Just like the TLC show “Long Lost Family”, I want you to write a letter to your family member and provide me with a Photo of yourself (or Facebook link).

  • Write a personal Letter
  • Photo of yourself

Reading your first words and seeing a face with a name makes a much more personal and stronger emotional connection.  They have that personal time to now re-read your greeting as many times as they need and gaze into your face until it burns a permanent image in their soul, to replace that emptiness that was once there with new-found feelings, whatever they may be.  Of course, we always hope for the absolute best turnout, but reality proves some people take longer to come full circle. But never lose faith that it will happen and always embrace that patience is demanded for a reunion.

RESEARCH INFO

WHAT I NEED FROM YOU TO GET STARTED IN YOUR SEARCH

(V)=Volunteer service       (P)=Paid Service

(V) ADOPTEES SEEKING BIRTH FAMILY:

  • Your non-id Info from the adoption agency/birth county and state you were born in /adopted in. (If you need help with this, please contact me and I will help you learn how to obtain it).
  • Recommended: DNA results from Ancestry.com, 23andMe, FTdna or Heritage DNA. I prefer Ancestry.com ( A basic Autosomal test is what these companies use ( family finder test). However, if you are a male seeking ONLY your paternal side of family, you may also want to have a YDna test done.  The more markers you purchase, the better your results will be, and considering DNA is so much more popular than it was only 10 years ago, I suggest buying the test with the most markers.  It is much more expensive, but will heed tons more results giving you more “common surnames” to investigate)
  • Donation appreciated for my time and work involved (This not only shows me your appreciation, but helps me pay for the research tools I need to continue doing this work and helping others like you).

(V) BIRTH FAMILY SEEKING ADOPTEE:

  • Any paper work you may have from the adoption finalization
  • Any “hearsay” you may have about the adoption, adopted parents, ect.
  • Verified exact birthdate
  • Verified exact birth place
  • Recommended: DNA results from Ancestry.com, 23andMe, FTdna or Heritage DNA. I prefer Ancestry.com
  • Donation appreciated for my time and work involved (This not only shows me your appreciation, but helps me pay for the research tools I need to continue doing this work and helping others like you).
